KUANTAN residents can enjoy wider shopping choices for electrical and lifestyle goods with the first Harvey Norman store having opened there.

Located at Berjaya Megamall Kuantan, the superstore promises a conducive shopping environment with a wide range of electrical appliances, IT and mobile devices, furniture and bedding products.

The opening marked the entry of this leading Australian household retailer into Pahang and brought the company closer to its vision of establishing 80 stores nationwide by 2028, said Harvey Norman Malaysia’s chief operating officer Jonathan Toh.

To cater to consumers’ ever-changing tastes and busy lifestyles, the Kuantan branch promises to connect its customers to products and services in its partner stores.

The company, said Toh, wanted to bring convenience right to the customer’s doorstep.

“With this new opening, gone are the days when our Pahang friends would have to travel to other states to purchase from Harvey Norman.

“Now, they can purchase their products directly from our superstore.”

Toh added that this convenience included access to services such as product exchange and easy payment options.

Among the options are payment flexibility for both credit card and non-credit card holders, such as instalments for up to 48 months on all major banks’ credit cards and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options.

To celebrate the grand opening, Harvey Norman will also donate home necessities to selected charity homes in Kuantan.

This corporate social responsibility exercise involves RM88,000 worth of goods to three charity homes, namely Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rapha Kuantan Pahang, Pusat Penjagaan Orang Tua Kuantan Pahang and Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-kanak Terencat Akal Kuantan.

Berjaya Land Bhd deputy general manager of complex operations Andy Bau said the mall management was thrilled to welcome the famous brand into its space.

“We believe we can deliver the best shopping experience to our shoppers with Harvey Norman’s extensive range of the latest IT gadgets, high-tech electrical appliances, trendy furniture and comfy bedding products,” said Bau.

Aside from getting to choose from the biggest range of large screen TVS with exclusive models in Kuantan, customers can also find a range of laptops and smartphones at the superstore.

In addition to sofa and dining sets, there will also be recliners from renowned brands like IMG and La-z-boy, over 60 mattresses by top brands like Sealy and Serta plus designer bed frames.

The grand opening sale will run until May 31.
