MRCB boss wins Asia Pacific entrepreneurship excellence award
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) group managing director Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din has been recognised as one of the country’s leading entrepreneurs at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA) 2015.
He was among 33 entrepreneurs, business leaders and captains of industry who received their awards at a glittering dinner here last night.
Mohamad Salim received an award in the Outstanding Category together with 14 other recipients for entrepreneurial excellence, innovations, fair business practices and sustainable leadership and was also recognised by Enterprise Asia as one of the leading entrepreneurs and contributors to Malaysia’s intensifying economic development.
An ecstatic Mohamad Salim told theSun that he attributed the award to MRCB’s workforce, board of directors and shareholders.
“I am grateful to have received this award, which is a true recognition of MRCB’s achievements in the property development and construction sector,” he said after receving the award.
Mohamad Salim believes that it is important to keep his entrepreneurship spirit alive, “to keep the whole organisation hungry for more challenges and opportunities”.
Under his stewardship since September 2013, MRCB has been aggressively pursuing projects to bring it to the next level.
“This hunger for success, innovation and solutions in business and entrepreneurship will take one on a marathon that requires limitless energy to reach the finish line,” Mohamad Salim said.
Other winners included Silverlake Axis Ltd executive chairman Goh Peng Ooi, who won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and TSH Resources Bhd chairman Datuk Dr Kelvin Tan, who clinched the Special Achievement Award.
Monica Lai Voon Huey, group deputy managing director of Ireka Corporation Bhd, was named Woman Entrepreneur of the Year and Datuk Murly Manokharan, group CEO of Aspen Group, was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
APEA is a regional recognition programme organised by Enterprise Asia, the region’s leading association and thinkthank for entrepreneurship.
