Ling still waiting for Najib to sue
PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik is surprised that he has yet to receive any legal notice pertaining to legal lawsuit from the lawyers of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak over his remarks of corruption against him and 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
He said he is still waiting for the legal suit after replying three weeks ago to the letter of demand issued by Hafarizam Wan & Aisha Mubarak law firm that represents Najib.
“Let’s wait for it. I am a patient man. Don’t rush, be patient,” he told reporters after witnessing the presentation of the Kiwanis Humanitarian Public Service Award to Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali at Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya yesterday.
Najib had cited Ling for defamation after the former MCA president claimed that the prime minister “has taken people’s money and put it in his own personal accounts”. Ling had also urged Najib to resign.
Najib claims the remarks made by Ling had damaged his reputation as the prime minister.
