Cop’s son denies false statement charge
KUALA LUMPUR: A son of a senior police officer pleaded not guilty in the sessions court here yesterday to a charge of giving false statement about the sale of 50 luxury cars last year.
Mohamad Azhan Hamza, 31, a businessman, was charged with giving a false statement about the sale of the cars through car dealers TTDI Cars, Melinium Auto and Sentimas Sdn Bhd to investigating officer, Mohamad Farid Jabar from Malaysian AntiCorruption Commission (MACC) at its headquarters in Putrajaya, between 1.45pm and 6.30pm on July 16 last year.
Judge Norsharidah Awang allowed Mohamad Azhan bail of RM20,000 in one surety and fixed Nov 30 for re-mention. – Bernama
