Disappointed unit owners

-

KAJANG: Some Kelisa Ria apartment owners here are up in arms as there are still defects and units not built according to specifications after refurbishment work by the newly appointed contractor, Global Genting Ventures Sdn Bhd.

Norazman Jamaludin, 42, is upset to discover his unit has only one bathroom instead of two and that the roof is leaking.

“I still need to pay the loan (for the apartment) and I’m unable to live here because there is still no electricity and water,” he said at a press conference yesterday after receiving a mock key to his unit from Housing and Local Government Ministry deputy secretary-general Datuk Tham Weng Wang.

Another purchaser, Bahariah Ismail, 48, asked why residents have to apply for electricity through the new contractor.

“The S&P stated that the original developer must fulfil the agreement. It must be held accountable for it (apply for electricity),” said Bahariah.

Earlier, Tham urged the owners to fill in a form available either from the contractor or liquidator company, Hall Chadwick Corporate Advisory Sdn Bhd, listing out the defects for further rectification work to be carried out.
