IPOH: Multi-award winner The Haven Luxury Resort (Best Western Premier) grabbed another global award in the Family category at the annual World Luxury Hotel Awards 2015 Gala Ceremony held at Harbour Grand, Hong Kong last weekend.

The resort was also adjuged continent winner for Asia in the Luxury Hotel for the Best Scenic Environment category.

The awards were received by The Haven Sdn Bhd director Amy Lau and its assistant marketing manager Chong Yi Liang.

The Haven has so far won over 30 local and international awards in various categories, including best retreat, best condo development, best green development quality and excellence, best residential architectural design and global retreat destination of the year award.

The hotel’s ecological standards are as impressive as the surrounding landscape. It is among the first properties in Malaysia to use 100% renewable energy within a sustainable budget.

“This is the first time a hospitality or hotel development in Perak or Penang has been awarded this world recognition in this sector,” The Haven Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Peter Chan told theSun.

“The Haven is truly humbled with these two awards and is more determined than ever to provide extraordinary service, value and benefits to all our guests. We have been adjudged over hundreds of top world-class establishments from all over the world, and this can now give Ipoh the confidence it deserves,” he said.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards were established as the ultimate achievement in hoteliering. Since 2006, the World Luxury Hotel Awards has been acknowledging the top hotels in the world that have taken the extra step with regards to their facilities and service excellence and have maintained the highest standards in service for their guests.

“This global award is accepted as the pinnacle of achievement for luxury hotels, resorts and lodges for their world class facilities and service excellence.

“Who could have envisaged that a hotel development in Ipoh could achieve world recognition?” Chan asked, adding that The Haven indeed has put Ipoh on the world map, pioneering the concept of luxury family vacations for three generations – children, parents and grandparents.

“The Haven has also become a catalyst for the revival of confidence in Ipoh, highlighting Perak’s natural assets, limestone hills and home-grown uniqueness. This will surely be a confidence boost for Ipoh city as one of the growing world-class tourist destinations,” he said.
