Businessman wins RM30 million Toto 4D jackpot

PETALING JAYA: A businessman from Selangor won the RM30.57 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on Sunday (Oct 25) after buying the same set of numbers for five years.

The 55-year-old winner, who runs a family-owned business, said he had been buying the same set of numbers spending RM182 in every draw on his System 14 ticket for five years.

The numbers included his identity card numbers, his son’s birthday and car registration numbers.

His winning pair of numbers – 1809 and 5553 won him a whopping RM30,573,570.75 and his System 14 ticket, which allowed him to buy 14 sets of numbers on a ticket, also won him an additional RM4,032.

“I have bought the same sets of numbers for five years without fail. I will ask my friend whom I trusted, to buy the numbers for me even when I am not free or travelling abroad.

“Although it is not a cheap investment, spending RM182 on every draw for five years, the payout is great,” he told Sports Toto when collecting his winnings a day after the draw.

He said he would continue to buy the same sets of numbers and that he would also try his luck in playing the Toto Lotto games.

“I won RM2 million before from playing Toto Digit games, so I was calm when learning that I hit the jackpot.

“I will donate 10% of the prize money to places of worship, 10% to charitable organisations and invest the rest and save some for a rainy day,” he added.

The RM30.57 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 is the highest snowballed amount since its introduction in 2011.
