FBM KLCI ends lower

-

BURSA Malaysia closed lower for the third consecutive day yesterday on continued profit-taking mostly in finance and heavyweight counters, dealers said.

The FBM KLCI ended 10.44 points lower at 1,686.51 after moving between 1,684.36 and 1,694703.75 during the day.

However, market breadth was positive as gainers led losers 449 to 384, while 313 counters were unchanged, 670 untraded and 49 suspended. Turnover rose to 2.15 billion shares worth RM2.05 billion.

Affin Hwang Investment Bank vice-president/head of retail research Datuk Dr Nazri Khan Adam Khan said the sentiment is normal as investors are cautious over the outcome of meetings of major central banks.

“The bull is at pause for rest, awaiting fresh clues on monetary policies,” he said, adding the local bourse was also affected by post-budget profit-taking. – Bernama
