Loh joins runs and marathons very often, and has done more than 50 runs. His first obstacle run was The Reebok One Challenge. It was a hard decision for Loh whether or not to join it. He has done half (21km) and full (42km) marathons as well as running events but it was time to challenge himself.
“Reebok was very surprised and contacted me to be sure I wanted to join as the run is very difficult. It requires teamwork as I can’t go through all the obstacles like climbing walls and crossing the monkey bar on my own,” Loh said.
When not running and training, Loh works as a UI/UX (user interface and user experience) designer. He designs software applications from the interface until testing to ensure the product fulfils the users’ experience. “It was after I finished school that I found I
was interested in computers so I decided to pursue it. I learned everything from zero and found my passion in it,” Loh said.
For someone starting their fitness journey, Loh said it depends on what you want. If you want to build muscle then it is good to do weights but if you want to lose weight, start with short distance running. It will be tough in the beginning but slowly build up your stamina and you will enjoy running.
“I wish to challenge myself to do longer marathons. There was a 12-hour challenge running event (postponed) where I wanted to see the distance I could achieve. I was aiming for 80km so in the future I can do the 100km ultra marathon. That is my goal for the next one or two years,” Loh said.
