PAS REP: I STILL SUPPORT PENANG GOVT
GEORGE TOWN: Permatang Pasir assemblyman Datuk Salleh Man, the sole PAS lawmaker in Penang, denies he has withdrawn his support for the Penang government. He denied the claims made in a Oct 31 report in an English language daily with the title Penang PAS rep 'won't support state govt'. Salleh said he was never interviewed by any of the newspaper’s journalists and urged the publication to retract the report immediately. He said his victory in the last general election was based on the spirit of Pakatan Rakyat (now defunct). “It is in that spirit that I will continue to support the Pakatan Harapan Penang government. I will also support Lim Guan Eng as chief minister and will defend him and the state government,” he said at a press conference yesterday. Lim welcomed the announcement and said Salleh was still a member of the state government.
