CASE MANAGEMENT FOR NAJIB’S SUIT ON DEC 1

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak’s defamation suit against DAP’s Tony Pua in relation to 1MBD is fixed for case management on Dec 1, 2015. Pua’s lawyer Gobind Singh Deo said they are waiting for the outcome of a decision in another case in the Court of Appeal, on the issue of “locus standi” (position) as their case also involved the same issue. “Pua’s application to strike out Najib’s suit is on the grounds of locus standi,” said Gobind, after the case. He said they are arguing that a person who is holding public office is not entitled to sue. The case in the Court of Appeal is between Felda and Suara Keadilan. “We all agreed to wait for the decision on the legal issue,” said lawyer Datuk Firuz Hussein Jamaluddin.
