SHOP DAMAGED IN BATU CAVES TEMPLE FIRE
KUALA LUMPUR: A fire broke out at the Batu Caves Temple in Gombak on Wednesday evening. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul said in the 5.30pm incident, a total of 53 Hindu priests and visitors were evacuated from the premises. “A souvenir shop inside the temple was badly damaged,” he added. Sani said the department received a distress call at 5.25pm and firemen from Selayang, Rawang, and Gombak, and five volunteer firemen were dispatched to the scene.
