DRUNK BREAKS INTO NORWEGIAN PARLIAMENT
COPENHAGEN: An intoxicated man tried to break into the Norwegian parliament in Oslo on Wednesday, police said. After scaling a barrier, the man managed to enter an adjoining building where offices are situated, but police said that his motives were not political. “It was someone who wanted to stage a break-in; the fact that this was in the parliament was a coincidence,” a police spokesman said. The security breach sparked a major search operation, with police aided by dogs and a helicopter at the scene. Officers eventually found the emptyhanded culprit hiding on the roof. – dpa
