BANGKOK’S DON MUANG AIRPORT OPENS 2ND TERMINAL

BANGKOK: One of Bangkok’s two internatio­nal airports opened a second terminal to ease congestion yesterday. The new terminal building will extend Don Muang Internatio­nal Airport’s lead as the world’s largest low-cost carrier airport, according to the Centre for Aviation analysts. Don Muang served 21.5 million passengers in 2014, far exceeding its recommende­d capacity of 16.5 million per year. The new terminal will increase the capacity by 11.5 million passengers per year, according to the Airport of Thailand.
