THAILAND SIGNS TWO RAIL DEALS WORTH 33.7B BAHT

BANGKOK: Thailand signed two dualtrack railway deals worth 33.66 billion baht (RM4.02 billion) yesterday, Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittay­apaisith said. A consortium led by Thai constructi­on firm CH Karnchang Pcl offered the lowest bid of 23.43 billion baht to build a 187km line linking the cities of Nakorn Ratchasima and Khon Kaen. Sino Thai Engineerin­g and Constructi­on Pcl and Right Tunnelling Co Ltd won the deal to build another rail line from Chachoengs­ao Province to Saraburi Province, worth 10.22 billion baht.
