Klopp makes ‘special arrangements’ for Coutinho’s return

-

JURGEN KLOPP has revealed Liverpool have made “special arrangements” to get Philippe Coutinho back from international duty in time for the clash with Leicester City on Saturday.

The Brazilian is in line to appear for his country in the World Cup qualifier against Columbia tonight at the Arena Amazonia in 85% humidity, typical of the Manaus climate at this time of year.

Liverpool will open the new Main Stand at Anfield for the evening kickoff against Premier League champions Leicester, expanding their capacity to 54,000, with a host of festivities planned to mark the occasion.

Klopp, who has 11 first-team players away on international duty this week, said: “I don’t get frustrated by things I cannot change. Actually, I don’t think any manager in this moment is happy about the international break.

“For Coutinho, he is coming back Thursday morning and only because we make a few special arrangements with flights. Otherwise he would come on Thursday night, so nobody wants this. But we cannot change so why should I complain?

“Not to change. It’s not the best moment in the season for splitting the squad again.”

Leicester’s trip to Merseyside will be followed by their Champions League group stage debut away at Club Brugge next Wednesday after picking up four points from their opening three matches in the Premier League. – The Independent
