SAMSUNG collaborated with legendary rocker Amy Search to create what it claims to be Malaysia’s shortest music video – a 40-second clip of the song Memory, available on YouTube.

The collaboration was part of Samsung’s Galaxy J Series campaign.

“What is amazing about music is that it is embedded within all of us,” said Lee Jui Siang, vice president of IT & Mobile Business Unit at Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

“Hence, this time around, we wanted to speak to our fans in a more relatable manner – through music.

“So we got in touch with rock music powerhouse Amy Search to join us in this fun and melodic journey.

“Amy is iconic in Malaysia’s music industry and he brings such an upbeat aura to the Galaxy J Series personality.

“We couldn’t be happier to partner with such a legend and we are excited to share this original music with our fans.”

Amy, real name Suhaimi A. Rahman, has been a part of the Malaysian music industry since 1981 when his rock band Search, first came into the scene.

This actor, vocalist and producer is best known for hit singles Isabella and Jangan Pisahkan, and for his lead roles in Sayang (1987) and Isabella (1990) films.

He said he was excited when Samsung approached him to collaborate on its Galaxy J Series campaign.

“This is because music is my life, and music is how I speak to my fans.

“It was definitely fun to create the shortest song in my career, especially for the Galaxy J Series!”

The Samsung Galaxy J series is a mid-range series of Android smartphones that are easy on the pocket and steadfast in performance.

The latest model, the Galaxy J7 Prime, features an 8MP front camera for wide selfies, a 5.5in screen, a premium two-tone design, and a large 3,300mAh battery capacity.
