Indonesian wife runs away with son

-

KUALA LUMPUR: A man, who married an Indonesian woman, is having a nightmare again as she had run away with their sixyear-old son for the third time in their nearly seven-year marriage.

Lorry driver Lam Ah Choy, 58, from Batu 9 Selangor, said his wife, Nadia Kristiana, 36, left with their son in June last year and he has not been able to trace them since.

“She first ran away in 2011 and had threatened to take our son back to her hometown in Indonesia but the police managed to locate them and send them back,” he said.

The second time she ran away was in February last year but was brought back by a friend who demanded that Lam pay a ransom.

“We didn’t pay any money but she was sent back,” he said.

A tearful Lam said his wife did not take her passport and their son’s identification documents.

He said they were spotted at a church in Jinjang on Christmas Day but were unable to be traced after that.

“I just want my son to come back to me. He is starting school soon and I hope he is safe,” said Lam.

MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong said that he has seen many similar cases and warned people to be careful when selecting foreign spouses.

He also urged anyone with information about the mother and child to contact the police or his office at 03-22033 888. — by Timothy Achariam
