Drug ring busted, 11 nabbed
JOHOR BARU: Police have crippled a drug trafficking syndicate and seized drugs worth RM3 million following raids in Johor and Selangor on Jan 9.
Federal police narcotics investigations department director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Sharif said police arrested 11 suspects, including two women, and confiscated 11 vehicles, including a Lamborghini, cash, gold chains and watches amounting to RM2.5 million from the raids.
Speaking during a press conference at the Johor police contingent headquarters yesterday, he said a team from the Special Tactics and Intelligence Narcotics Squad (Sting) and state Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department made eight raids in a two-and-a-half-hour operation on Monday.
Mohd Mokhtar said police seized 7,460 erimin-5 tablets, 312 ecstasy tablets, 90 grammes of ganja, 102kg of a powdery substance and 42,960 tablets.
He said the raids were conducted in Johor Baru, Senai and Kulai in Johor and Shah Alam in Selangor.
