MOROCCO BANS BURQA SALE
RABAT: Morocco has banned the sale and production of the burqa full-face veils, apparently for security reasons, reports said on Tuesday. While there was no official announcement by authorities, the reports said the interior ministry order would take effect this week. The ban covers “the import, manufacture and marketing” of burqa, the Le360 news site quoted a ministry official as saying. It said the move appears to be motivated by security concerns, “since bandits have repeatedly used this garment to perpetrate crimes”. – AFP
