Two 16MP cameras in the Oppo R9s
OPPO began the new year by claiming dominance over mobile photography with the star-studded launch of the Oppo R9s.
More than just an upgrade to the recent Oppo R9, this mid-range phone boasts highend performance.
The crown jewel of the Oppo R9s is its two 16MP cameras, one in the front, and one at the back.
The front facing camera features a large f2.0 aperture, and Oppo’s Screen Flash technology paired with its own proprietary software to create the perfect selfie.
However, the rear camera touts a 1/2.8in Sony IMX398 sensor that is said to be jointly developed by Sony and Oppo.
The sensor is fitted with an extra-wide f1.7 aperture for better low light performance and a six element lens in addition to a sapphire lens.
Combined with Dual PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) technology and you get a camera phone that is fast in any lighting condition.
Under the bonnet is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, with 4GB of memory and 64GB of expandable storage.
Powering it all is a 3,010mAh battery that sports the VOOC Flash Cha rge technology for when the phone needs a power top-up, fast. The interface is Oppo’s own ColorOS 3.0 which is based on Android 6.0, running on a 5.5in full high definition display. Adding their star power to the launch were two top local celebrities – one of Malaysia’s hottest actors, Fattah Amin, and legendary supermodel Amber Chia.
