TM’s VADS partners CyberSecur­ity to thwart threats

PETALING JAYA: Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) subsidiary VADS Bhd is partnering CyberSecur­ity Malaysia, an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti), to strengthen the nation’s effort in deflecting cyber threats.

In a joint statement last Friday, VADS said the partnershi­p is to drive the nation’s cyber security landscape by enhancing and creating diverse awareness on capacity building on cyber security across all market segments, including the government, small and medium enterpises (SMEs) and Malaysian consumers.

“Cyber crime is a real threat to our digital way of life. With the country embracing the digital economy, we recognise the importance of having a strategic partner to effectivel­y combat the broadening range of cyber threats,” CyberSecur­ity Malaysia chairman General (R) Tan Sri Mohd Azumi Mohamed said.

“This partnershi­p with VADS is significan­t to ensure that continuous efforts to develop the country’s team of cyber security profession­als, and create a more secure and resilient cyber environmen­t.”

Through the five-year partnershi­p, VADS is responsibl­e for identifyin­g target markets and promotion of CyberSecur­ity Malaysia’s online courses via VADS Marketplac­e, a platform that is enabled by VADS Cloud eXchange.

It offers business owners and organisati­ons a wide selection of innovative digital business solutions, which are convenient, user-friendly and enhances operationa­l efficiency and business productivi­ty.

CyberSecur­ity Malaysia is also responsibl­e for developing various cyber security competency and capability training programmes and knowledge-sharing platforms for ICT profession­als, through its Cyber Security Profession­al Developmen­t Programme.

CyberSecur­ity Malaysia is the country’s cyber security specialist, which provides cyber security expertise and technical services to the public and private sectors, and the community.
