natural, as this would constitute a good plot.

Lands which are located at dead-ends, especially if the plot itself is located at the very end of the road, are considered to have bad feng shui.

Theoretically, the land which faces a road coming straight at it, symbolically indicates that the occupants of the house are being put in a tight corner.

Also, the road represents a sha qi, which, according to feng shui principles, has a negative affliction on the property.

Most people would be familiar with properties in this situation: they are also known as a Tjunction houses.

The main reason for the bad feng shui is that a T-junction house has negative qi rushing too strongly from the road towards it, and this negatively affects the energy of the whole building.

This happens especially if the house is very ‘exposed’ in terms of energy, meaning it has no landscaping around it, and is situated very close to the road.

In addition to natural structures around the building, it is equally important to consider other manmade structures, which can also bring inauspicious luck or negative energy.

Structures such as transmission towers for power grids, and large criss cross beams, will also impact the plots negatively.

Apart from the above, lands located close to graveyards, cemeteries, crematoriums, and hospitals are also a taboo, as they are places which emanate strong negative vibrations that will overwhelm the living.

The shape of the plot is also important in ensuring the proper flow of energy through it in terms of both vaastu and feng shui considerations.

An irregular-shaped plot of land can affect the feng shui of the house, which is constructed on it.

In a city where locating and buying a plot to fit one’s budget is a nightmare, we generally end up settling for a plot of any shape, without looking into its cause and effect.

And then, we end up having to pay dearly for our folly.
