AirAsia launches thrice weekly, direct Langkawi-Shenzhen flights

-

AIRASIA recently added a new route to its portfolio of flights, providing customers with direct passage from Langkawi to Shenzhen in China, three times a week.

The new route was officiated by Malaysia Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak at a ceremony in Kompleks Lang Merah at the Langkawi International Airport.

Also present was AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes who thanked the prime minister, shared how the new sector will effectively benefit the country and spoke extensively on the airline’s achievements and reasons it is where it is today.

While the new route is aimed at boosting tourism on the island, it is also intended to further develop Langkawi as a world-class destination. These coincide with the Langkawi Development Authority’s (LADA) mission, to tap into new foreign markets.

With the introduction of this new route, AirAsia is offering promotional all-in fares from Langkawi International Airport to Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, starting from RM159. Flights can be booked via the AirAsia website or app until Aug 27 for flights between Aug 21 and Feb 25, 2018.

AirAsia now flies from Langkawi to seven destinations with four domestic routes – Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Baru and Kuching; and three international routes – Singapore, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. AirAsia also connects Langkawi to 15 countries including Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan and other destinations, via Fly-Thru.
