Beauty queen to be crowned with RM1.5 million tiara

SUBANG JAYA: The winner of the Miss Orient Internatio­nal Malaysia 2017 title will be crowned with a diamondstu­dded tiara worth RM1.5 million sponsored by Roku Luxury.

However, the tiara remains the property of the organisers and she will receive a replica worth RM200,000.

Fourteen contestant­s aged between 18 and 27 are competing for the crown, with the beauty queen going on to represent Malaysia at the Miss Orient Internatio­nal Final.

“We are a multiracia­l and a multicultu­ral country. With this pageant, we hope to promote our country’s culture and heritage,” Alice Lee, founder and chairman of Miss Orient Internatio­nal Malaysia 2017, said.

She said she hopes the event would be well received.

The grand finale of the event will be on Friday while the Miss Orient Internatio­nal Final will be held next year.

“The finalists will be judged on confidence, charisma, stage presentati­on, catwalk, poise, posture and knowledge on the heritage of Malaysia.”

In addition to the title of Miss Orient Internatio­nal Malaysia 2017, there are other subsidiary titles to be won, such as Miss Roku Luxury Elegance, Miss Ogawa Health & Wellness, Miss Summit USJ Personalit­y, Miss Dream Cut Radiant Hair, Miss Carlo Rino Gorgeous, Miss La Mode Crowning Glory, Miss Senzo Beautiful Nails, Miss ASK Popular, Miss One City and Best National Costume.
