Beauty queen to be crowned with RM1.5 million tiara

SUBANG JAYA: The winner of the Miss Orient International Malaysia 2017 title will be crowned with a diamondstudded tiara worth RM1.5 million sponsored by Roku Luxury.

However, the tiara remains the property of the organisers and she will receive a replica worth RM200,000.

Fourteen contestants aged between 18 and 27 are competing for the crown, with the beauty queen going on to represent Malaysia at the Miss Orient International Final.

“We are a multiracial and a multicultural country. With this pageant, we hope to promote our country’s culture and heritage,” Alice Lee, founder and chairman of Miss Orient International Malaysia 2017, said.

She said she hopes the event would be well received.

The grand finale of the event will be on Friday while the Miss Orient International Final will be held next year.

“The finalists will be judged on confidence, charisma, stage presentation, catwalk, poise, posture and knowledge on the heritage of Malaysia.”

In addition to the title of Miss Orient International Malaysia 2017, there are other subsidiary titles to be won, such as Miss Roku Luxury Elegance, Miss Ogawa Health & Wellness, Miss Summit USJ Personality, Miss Dream Cut Radiant Hair, Miss Carlo Rino Gorgeous, Miss La Mode Crowning Glory, Miss Senzo Beautiful Nails, Miss ASK Popular, Miss One City and Best National Costume.
