Ready for duo highway challenge?
CALLING all running enthusiasts, here’s an awesome chance to put on your running shoes and achieve your “personal highway best” or perhaps challenge your limitations.
IJM Corporation Berhad and Allianz Malaysia Berhad partner again to bring serious and leisure runners an exciting highway race. After last year’s success, this year, the IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge 2018 expects to draw about 15,500 participants.
Comprising the Besraya Highway Challenge, to be held on Apr 29 offering runners a 13km route and a 6km fun run and the NPE Highway Challenge on July 29, which will offer more challenging distances of a 21km half marathon and a 10km leisure run – there will also be three running clinics to help participants get run-ready. Slots are open to the public but limited so, register early.
What’s in for podium finishers, serious runners and those determined to make the top 10? For a start, there are local and international categories. The top 10 participants clocking the fastest time under their respective categories get a chance to win from a pool of RM72,700 prize money. Those who register for both the runs – the Duo Challenge Category – can look forward to receiving a dry bag in their race kits too.
This year, special contributions from surplus funds will go towards three causes – a RM10,000 cash donation to the Lysosomal Malaysia Society; air-conditioners for the teacher’s room at Sekolah Rendah Agama Medan Harun; and meeting room facilities and equipment under the Project Perumahan Rakyat Seri Malaysia.
