BETTER BORDER SURVEILLANCE

-

ARAU: The use of closed circuit television cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the Malaysia-Thailand border will further enhance the effectiveness of operations as well as reduce manpower. Brig-Gen Hashim Aman Shah, 30th Brigade commander, said the long and wide border between the two countries required the use of many personnel. The UAV can also be used for monitoring at fenced and non-fenced stretches of the border. “By using CCTVs and UAV technology, we can even monitor remote places or spaces difficult to manoeuvre into by humans,” he told reporters here.
