PETALING JAYA: Po­lice are clos­ing in on a man pos­ing as a Se­lan­gor palace of­fi­cial of­fer­ing fake “datuk” ti­tles. Se­lan­gor po­lice chief Com­mis­sioner Datuk Ma­zlan Man­sor said po­lice re­ceived a re­port on the mat­ter on Mon­day. “The sus­pect ap­par­ently posed as a sec­re­tary of the Se­lan­gor Coun­cil of the Royal Court and of­fered datuk­ships from the Se­lan­gor palace. “In­ves­ti­ga­tions have been ini­ti­ated un­der Sec­tion 419 of the Pe­nal Code for cheat­ing by im­per­son­ation. If found guilty, the sus­pect could be jailed for seven years, or fined, or both.
