All about colour and diversity
MAC is back to its old tricks again, with the imminent launch of a brand new fashion collaboration.
The cosmetics giant has teamed up with the fashion designer Nicola Formichetti, former artistic director of Diesel and the cofounder of the luxury streetwear label Nicopanda, on a fun-filled make-up collection with a panda theme.
According to an Instagram post by Formichetti, the MAC X Nicopanda range is “All about colour & diversity.” The Italian-Japanese designer added: “It’s always been a dream to create a beauty line! Dream come true.”
Imagery posted on social media by MAC and Nicopanda reveals an electrifying collection comprising lipsticks, lip glosses, eyeshadows and face palettes in eye-popping colours, as well as a series of glittery face stickers depicting hearts, pandas, and more. The range, which will launch on April 5 on maccosmet- ics.com and in-store on April 11, comes in playful 3D panda-themed packaging.
The collection marks another high-profile partnership for MAC, which released its retro, musicthemed beauty line with designer Jeremy Scott earlier this month. The brand’s ever-growing portfolio of famous collaborators also includes jewellery designer Jade Jagger, hip hop star Nicki Minaj and singers Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey. Last year, the company also released a makeup collection in partnership with beauty influencer Patrick Starrr, and hinted at a secretive project with sportswear giant Puma. – AFP Relaxnews
