Ahmad Husni is in
IPOH: Incumbent for Tambun Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah who quit his ministerial and party posts two years ago, has been picked to defend his seat.
Former finance minister II Ahmad Husni said he was confident that the voters would continue to support him.
“There are 17,000 Umno members, of which 16,000 are voters (in the constituency). They are matured enough to make a decision,” he said.
“After stepping down from my ministerial post, my networking with the people had (become better).
“I have been receiving a lot of invitations to attend events and give speeches. I still sit with the rakyat and listen to their problems.
“The voters are my family and together, we want to develop and continue to transform Tambun.”
Husni, an economist by training, has been Tambun MP since 1999. He left his ministerial and party posts in June 2016, announcing that he had resigned as Umno treasurer, BN treasurergeneral, Perak Umno deputy chief and Tambun Umno and BN chief.
