SHAH ALAM: The highperformance motorcycle believed to have been used by the assassins who gunned down Palestinian lecturer Fadi M. R. Albatsh ( pix) has been found.

The machine was found by the police in Danau Kota, Setapak approximately 2km from the scene where he was waylaid by two men.

“Yes, we believe that was the bike used by the suspects. However, I can’t divulge much details about the recovery as the probe is still ongoing,” InspectorGeneral of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said after visiting the Selangor police contingent in conjunction with the polls.

He said several people have come forward to assist with the investigation.

“We have new leads but I cannot elaborate,” he said.

Mohamad Fuzi also revealed that police have picked up an Arabian man who claimed that police were slow to respond to distress calls made soon after the incident despite making “uncountable calls”.

“We will decide on the next course of action in regards to the man’s case. We might use the Anti-Fake News law if required,” he said.

Police were working with several agencies, including the Immigration Department, to track down the suspects based on the photofits released earlier.

“Security at exit points in the country has been tightened. However, it might be a problem if the suspects used illegal means to leave the country,” he said.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim later said the recovered motorcycle was a Kawasaki Versys.

On a separate issue, Mohamad Fuzi said a total of 15,000 police personnel, including senior ranking officers, will be deployed in Selangor on polling day.

“The state Light Strike Force and Federal Reserve Unit are prepared too.

“The composition of voters in Selangor is high so every constituencies and districts in the state are important,” he said.
