EVERY year, the collaborative initiative “Gaya Koleksi Raya” by AndrewsModels and FashionValet gathers local fashion designers under one roof to showcase their exclusive Raya designs for the festive season. The annual fashion show recently returned for the fourth year running at the Boulevard, Publika.

“It’s great to see how Gaya Koleksi Raya has grown over the years,” said Andrew Tan, Founder of AndrewsModels and Gaya Koleksi Raya. “We look forward to help further promote the festive apparels which have become of increased interest in the fashion industry in Malaysia.”

From Ready-to-Wear, Made-toMeasure and accessories, Gaya Koleksi Raya 2018 highlights over 20 Malaysian designers such as Fiziwoo, Ezuwan Ismail, Maqila, Atelier Fitton, Infinence, Arared, Shanell Harun, Zery Zamry and many more.

The show also witnessed Atelier Fitton’s first foray into traditional wear that pre- sented a total of 12 looks of complementing styles for both men and women to emphasise a sense of unity within a modern couple. “Tradition and a sense of identity is imperative in any modern society. Hence, creating a collection that is deeply rooted in a geographical location and context is key in achieving this,” said Joshua Fitton. His first Raya collection featured a classic twist of traditional attires played in a variety of silhouettes, dominated by geometrical cuts and mermaid skirts, while focusing on timeless prints such as stripes and checks in cotton and satin. Co-founder of FashionValet and the dUCk Group, Vivy Yusof took the opportunity to express her excitement: “Every year I look forward to our partnership with Andrew for Gaya Koleksi Raya. It marks as the kick-start of FashionValet’s Raya campaign, and I get so excited to see our designers showcase their collection on the runway.”
