Little time to lose

-

CONGRATULATION to Pakatan Harapan for its success in the 14th general election.

For the first time in the country’s history a new political coalition is at the helm.

As such, it is crucial for the new government to promptly start work to maintain peace and stability.

The new government should not spend too much time celebrating as it could cause illfeelings among members and supporters of parties that suffered losses.

It is important for Pakatan to quickly form the government not only at the federal level but in the states where it was victorious.

The country must be governed at all times without any gap in the administration.

There is much work to be done by the new government and the most important is to maintain peace and security, ensuring the rule of law is respected by all citizens and fulfil all the promises it made during campaigning.

Instead of finding fault with the previous government, the new government can invite its key officials to be part of the administration wherever needed.

The new government must not see the old government as the enemy as it would deter them from contributing to nation building.

As the old government is now the opposition, it has an important role to check and balance the new administration.
