7-Eleven awarded in CSR
7-ELEVEN Malaysia won for the second time consecutively, at the CSR Malaysia Awards.
Bagging the same award it did last year – “Company of The Year” in the retail category – its general manager of marketing Ronan Lee ( had this to say:
“7-Eleven Malaysia is incredibly encouraged by this recognition and will always remain passionate about our community outreach efforts as we believe in giving back to the society that we operate in as well as striving to Always Be There For You!”
Humbled and honoured by the recognition, Lee also commended CSR Malaysia for creating a platform to promote and recognise CSR efforts which can potentially encourage more participation from industry players across sectors and provide an avenue for corporations like itself, to continually develop best practices and improve philanthropic efforts.
“We strongly believe that all CSR initiatives, no matter how big or small, are about bringing hope and uplift the lives of those who need support whilst providing some respite to those in need as well as educating the public and, hopefully, inspire change within each member of public to be an agent of change in the betterment of their lives and the community they are in, from developing a sense of selfphilanthropy to fostering empathy and responsibility towards the world that we live in,” said Lee.
At this year’s awards ceremony, 34 other Malaysian private and listed companies were honoured, recognised and awarded, among which included Berjaya Starbucks (F&B Retail); AirAsia (Airline); Axiata (Telecommunications) and Kenanga (Investment Banking).
