> Event aims to instil better understanding of PH govt

PETALING JAYA: A town hall meeting involving about 3,000 civil servants with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be held this week in Putrajaya.

The event organised by the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan) will allow civil servants to get a better understanding of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

“Mahathir will also be presenting his perspective and plans to manage the government administration.

“The programme is significant because it will help civil servants at all levels to develop professional administration skills while also making them understand the importance of being professional,” according to a notice sighted by theSun.

Intan said the town hall session, to be held on Wednesday at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, will allow civil servants to impart their ideas and views to the prime minister.

theSun had recently reported that a number of officials appointed by the PH government had become victims of “sabotage” by those out to derail the administration.

This has occurred in at least three ministries, resulting in the removal of a senior civil servant, who allegedly masterminded the sabotage at one ministry.

In response to report, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa said he had instructed all secretary-generals and heads of service to investigate any possible sabotage attempts aimed at derailing the current administration.

He said any deliberate attempt to sabotage and undermine the government and its administration will not be tolerated.

Mahathir had said recently that there were concerns about the loyalty of some civil servants as some were still supportive of the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) government

He said there were many civil servants who voluntarily took part in the recent general election and campaigned for BN and PH was doubtful of their loyalty.
