Mahdzir to face al­leged graft charge

PE­TAL­ING JAYA: For­mer ed­u­ca­tion min­is­ter Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid is ex­pected to be charged on Fri­day, ac­cord­ing to sources at the Malaysian Anti-Cor­rup­tion Com­mis­sion (MACC).

He is ex­pected to be charged in re­la­tion to the RM1.25bil so­lar panel pro­ject for ru­ral schools in Sarawak.

It is learnt that he would be sum­moned to the MACC to­day and be taken to court the fol­low­ing day.

Mean­while, for­mer fed­eral ter­ri­to­ries min­is­ter Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Man­sor is ex­pected to be charged again, this time over the sale of a plot of land in Kuala Lumpur.

He is said to be un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion over a few land deals in Kuala Lumpur.

Bal­ing MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim was also sum­moned to the MACC head­quar­ters on Tues­day.

On Sept 25, Abdul Azeez and his brother Datuk Abdul Latif Abdul Rahim, who is the gen­eral man­ager of a real es­tate com­pany, were ar­rested by the MACC. Also de­tained was a com­pany di­rec­tor. – by Vathani Panirchel­lvum
