‘APPLY TO ENTER SCHOOLS’
KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition MPs and state representatives must get permission from state education departments to enter government schools for any official events, Education Minister Maszlee Malik said yesterday. This is a change from the previous Barisan Nasional administration as Opposition leaders were totally barred from schools, he added. “They can’t campaign, bring party flags and so on,” Maszlee said, adding that they must be seen as representatives of the people rather than their parties. “In the new Malaysia, we are allowing it as long as they follow procedures,” he said.
