RESPECT CIVIL SERVANTS: DPM

KUALA LUMPUR: Civil servants should be respected and not be harmed while performing their duties, said Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. The deputy prime minister said it was the responsibility of everyone to protect public servants including members of the security forces. “We have to protect whoever is working for the public, including firemen,” she said after opening the 2018 National Planning Congress organised by the Malaysian institute of Planners yesterday. She was commenting on the case of Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, 24, who was injured after he was reportedly beaten during the rioting at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple. – Bernama
