TERENGGANU'S FIRST ASSEMBLYWOMAN

KUALA TERENGGANU: Kuala Terengganu PAS Dewan Muslimat secretary Zuraida Md Noor was appointed the first assemblywoman in the state. Zuraida, who is also Terengganu Ameerah director, was appointed during the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly sitting, in line with Article 27 (2) of the Terengganu Constitution which stipulates that if there was no elected women or nonMuslim representatives, the assembly could appoint up to four people (to safeguard the interests of the groups). – Bernama
