She also hopes to create more social awareness and values through Miss CosmoWorld 2018, while raising funds for the children of the Lovely Disabled Home in Petaling Jaya, Selangor throughout the pageant events, including the grand finals.

Meanwhile, a subsidiary title – Best National Costume – was announced during a recent press conference for the pageant, which also saw a presentati­on from each of the 28 contestant­s showcasing their distinctiv­e national costumes.

The title was won by 21-year beauty blogger and representa­tive from Malaysia, Evian Lee, who wore a hibiscus-inspired ensemble which she designed herself.

She said: “I think the national flower of Malaysia truly represents the beauty of women, and it symbolises love, passion and energy which are values I want to bring to my audience.

“Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than to believe that she is beautiful. It’s all about the mindset; if you believe that you are then you really are.

“Participat­ing the pageant allows me to empower and encourage [other] women to be more independen­t, discipline­d, and confident to build a position for themselves in society.” – Jason Lim
