CHINESE MEDICINAL HERBS SEIZED
SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS) seized 6,887kg of Chinese medicinal herbs worth RM213,145 during inspection at the entrance to the North Klang Port last Tuesday. Its director, Dr Tarmisal Alimin said a consignment was found not in compliance with stipulated MAQIS import requirements. The importer of the medical herbs had not stated the import permit number for his cargo on the phytosanitary certificate, which is a breach in import permit regulations, he said in a statement. – Bernama
