Devils explain Haaland snub

-

BORUSSIA DORTMUND have won the race to sign Red Bull Salzburg star Erling

Haaland.

Manchester United were heavily interested in the player and were desperate to reunite the 19-year-old with former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer .

But Haaland’s Dortmund move was confirmed out of the blue yesterday, in a deal worth £18m (RM93m).

The Daily Mirror claim United pulled out of the deal earlier this month due to concerns with the way the transfer was to be structured.

The Red Devils were reportedly unwilling to include a clause which would see Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola and father AlfInge profit in the future.

Both men are set to benefit from any further transfer of the youngster, getting a slice of the profit once a move away from Dortmund has been finalised.

This was the sticking point which forced United to scrap their plans.
