Emery tells where it went wrong at The Emirates

-

UNAI EMERY has revealed that he believes losing to Sheffield United was the turning point that eventually saw him sacked by Arsenal in November. The Gunners had not won in seven games leading up to his dismissal, which came after his side threw away a lead to lose 2-1 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. But Emery reckons Lys Mousset’s firsthalf goal which gave the Blades a 10 win at Bramall Lane was the beginning of the end for his stint in charge of the north Londoners. “The game against Sheffield United was a bit of a turning point,” he said. “In one month everything got broken and we were incapable of winning a game in seven. The tension was like a rolling ball that was just getting bigger and bigger. We certainly failed to be a unit that opposition would struggle to get the better of.”
