In celebration of tourism
HELP University played its part in celebrating World Tourism Day
During the “Tourism & Jobs: A Better Future For All” panel talk by invited industry leaders in the tourism and hospitality management sector, OXFORD Centre for Leadership Asia Pacific deputy president John Chan addressed the misconception that those who study Tourism and Hospitality will end up as just tourist guides.
Dorsett Grand Subang Area general manager Christina Toh said hospitality and tourism is all about engagement and networking and without the people involved and those studying to be part of this industry, tourism would go nowhere.
Other events on the agenda included a presentation by Hospitality student Abdul Jalil Mani on World Tourism Day and how the main purpose of the event was to increase awareness of tourism. He also shared how tourism is now an important element in any country to help sustain economic and social growth.
A guest speaker during the event, RADAK Adventure founder Mohd Hasrol Kamis spoke on how tourism trends is skewing towards outdoor and nature activities.
The World Tourism Day 2019 event ended with a fashion show featuring SHOT students parading in international costumes from around the world.
