Young netizens give DAP the thumbs up

-

PETALING JAYA: Public perception of DAP appears to have received a boost among netizens, especially young Malays, due to the party’s unwavering support for Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Amid the political manoeuvrings and switching of alliance among MPs, several Twitter users have pledged to support the DAP by signing up as members.

It started with Twitter user @The_Mamu tweeting that if Malaysians were feeling rebellious, they could join DAP, attach the membership form, and submit to the party’s headquarters.

Several Twitter users then stated they have pledged to support and join the DAP, with some of them attaching photos of themselves filling up membership forms.

Twitter user @Iamkanahraf said he would join DAP because its ministers and elected representatives have a good track record.

Another user @burstaxon said he is joining the DAP because it is the most principled party.

An Umno member @cek_suhana quit the party to join DAP because she said it is a party for all.

“DAP is not a Chinese party, it is not an Indian party, and not a Malay party. But DAP is a party for all, doesn’t matter what race you are. If you’re Malay, and you feel DAP has a lot of Chinese, invite more Malays to join. What are you scared of? I don’t understand,” she tweeted in Bahasa Melayu.

Dusun Tua assemblyman Edry Faizal reminds those who want to join DAP to look for proposers among its current members to officially join as members on the social media platform as well.
