SEVEN APPOINTED HIGH COURT JUDGES

PUTRAJAYA: Seven judicial commissioners were appointed High Court judges yesterday. They are Datin Rohani Ismail, Anselm Charles Fernandis, Datuk Ahmad Fairuz Zainol Abidin, Datuk Mohd Radzi Harun, Datuk Aliza Sulaiman, Datuk Meor Hashimi Abdul Hamid and Dr Lim Hock Leng. Their appointments took effect yesterday. A small closed-door ceremony at the Palace of Justice was held to welcome the seven on board. Present were Chief Justice Tan Sri Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and Court of Appeal president Datuk Rohana Yusuf. The Corporate Communications Unit in the Chief Registrar’s Office of the Federal Court stated in a press statement that Lim took his oath of office before Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim, while the others did so before Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Azahar Mohamed. – Bernama
