Ole makes Greenwood vow, explains Martial’s form

-

MANCHESTER UNITED manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has vowed to help Mason Greenwood improve.

The teenager scored twice as the Red Devils beat Bournemouth 5-2 on Saturday and now has 15 goals for the season.

And Solskjaer also opened up on Martial’s improvement, with the France international scoring 20 goals for the first time in his career.

Greenwood is currently the talk of Manchester United, with 15 goals to his name many are predicting a bright future for the teenager, with only Martial and Marcus Rashford scoring more.

“He’s a naturally good finisher, so he’ll always score goals,” Solskjaer said.

“He’s a humble boy, he wants to learn, he listens, he’s worked hard, you can see his fitness is getting better and better.

“He’s just a young boy who will fill out, he’s exciting to work with and we’ll keep on building him up in the gym and on the pitch.”

Solskjaer also feels Greenwood can cope with playing for England.

Gareth Southgate is reportedly considering the 18year-old for his side’s Nations League fixtures with Iceland and Denmark in December.

And Solskjaer said: “If you can handle playing for Man Utd, then you can handle playing for any team and Mason’s got the qualities that not many others have.

“So he could play for England’s full team or U-21s, I don’t really mind. I know he’s doing well for us and it’s great to have him here.”

Solskjaer also talked about Martial’s improvement, with the France international now operating at the peak of his powers.

“I think the team creating chances, Anthony working hard, being the No. 9 in a settled position, but also once in a while rotating with Marcus (Rashford) and switching positions,” Solskjaer said.

“For his goal (against Bournemouth), he started off on the left and curled it into the top corner.” – Express Newspapers
