Five stars for Xtreme 150i

WMOTO launched the Wmoto Xtreme 150i scooter on Sunday and the scooter has been given a five-star rating through the Motorcycle Assessment Program in Malaysia (MyMAP).

MyMAP also recognises the scooter as the safest motorcycle, thanks to its Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

This recognition was done by the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Automotive, Robotics, and IoT (MARii).

MIROS states that the MyMap star rating is based on the evaluation of four key features: compliance with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, conformity of production (COP), safety feature technology and support programs and Xtreme 150i successfully met all required features.

Complying with Euro 4 emission standards, this scooter is powered by a single cylinder, singlecamshaft, four-stroke engine complemented by a liquid cooling system.

With an engine displacement of 149.3cc, the 143kg scooter produces a maximum power of 12.1hp at 8,500rpm and a maximum torque of 11.8Nm at 5,000rpm.

All its lights are LEDs and the headlamps are matched with spanner-shaped daytime running lights (DRL).

The Extreme 150i’s 11-litre fuel tank enables the scooter to cover a range of about 400km. Other features include full digital

LCD meter panel display, start-stop button to optimise fuel consumption and minimise

emissions, underseat storage space, single disc brake equipped with ABS, a USB charger port, a 12volt power socket, a windshield with a fivecentimetre tool-less adjustable angle range, upside-down fork and adjustable rear monoshock, 180mm ground clearance.

The scooter’s dimensions are 1,925mm long, 760mm wide and 1,290mm tall, as well as a 1,320mm wheelbase.

The scooter also uses a digital LCD panel that displays complete ride information

including warning indicators.

There are two colour options –

Grey and Red.

Starting price is RM9,588 excluding registration and road tax. It is available as soon as Wmoto’s distributors’ are allowed to operate.

Each Xtreme 150i comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty or 20,000km travel distance (whichever comes first) and a genuine online parts purchase service by MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd.
