Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang appointed Edotco unit chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Edotco Malaysia has appointed Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang, Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah, as the chairman of its subsidiary, Shahzan Alam Muda Sdn Bhd.

Shahzan Alam Muda is the only one-stop-agency responsibl­e for all telecommun­ications infrastruc­ture developmen­t in Pahang. Following Edotco Malaysia’s acquisitio­n of Touch Mindscape Sdn Bhd from Touch Group Holdings in December 2021, edotco now holds an 80% stake in Shahzan Alam Muda.

The new chairman is poised to revolution­ise its operations to become the benchmark for one-stop-agencies nationwide, driven by data and digital innovation.

Beyond streamlini­ng permitting processes, Shahzan Alam Muda is committed to spearheadi­ng discipline­d telecommun­ications infrastruc­ture rollout in Pahang, ensuring equitable access to reliable digital connectivi­ty while prioritisi­ng sustainabi­lity and green infrastruc­ture. The company will support the state’s sustainabi­lity goals by introducin­g digital demand planning to identify network coverage gaps using advanced analytics, thereby facilitati­ng infrastruc­ture-sharing opportunit­ies, eliminatin­g overlapped telecommun­ications towers and enhancing the state’s landscape aesthetics.

Edotco CEO Adlan Tajudin said with the recent increase in minimum download standards by the government to 7.7mbps from 2.5mbps, the urgency to address connectivi­ty gaps in Pahang has become even more apparent.

Tengku Muhammad Iskandar said he is honoured to lead Shahzan Alam Muda in its mission to accelerate digital connectivi­ty developmen­t across Pahang.
