G Capital, HK-listed CCIAM collaborate on clean energy
PETALING JAYA: Malaysian renewable energy development company G Capital Bhd, via wholly owned subsidiary Northern Star Hydropower Sdn Bhd (NS Hydropower) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CCIAM Logistic Co Ltd to set a framework on developing clean energy solutions.
CCIAM Logistic is a subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchange-listed CCIAM Future Energy Ltd, which is principally engaged in the provision of energy-saving solutions, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for commercial, retail and industrial buildings, and the provision of financial investment and loan financing.
A full-term agreement is expected within 60 days.
CCIAM Logistic will act as the principal arranger for NS Hydropower to raise RM325 million for its 26 MWac small hydropower project development in Pahang. This collaboration extends beyond financing, encompassing the provision of comprehensive services to include the implementation of robust environmental, social and governance strategies.
G Capita executive chairman Tan Sri Affendi Buang said he sees it as unlocking a gateway to abundant global green capital eager to invest in the company’s small hydropower portfolio.
“CCIAM Future Energy aligns perfectly with our vision for a sustainable future. Their expertise and presence at HKEX bridge the gap between China and international markets,“he added.
Affendi said the strategic partnership is poised to accelerate Malaysia’s transition to clean energy by attracting foreign direct investment, fueling economic growth, and propelling the nation towards carbon neutrality.
